7 comments:

  1. Porifera (sponges) - Do not have mouths

Cnidaria - Cnidarians are incredibly diverse in form, and all of them are armed with stinging cells called nematocysts.

Arthropoda - They are also classified under: Crustacea (prawns), Myriapoda (centipedes), Arachnida (spiders), Insecta

  2. Learning Points:
    1. Notochord is present in all chordates during development, it is formed on the dorsal side of the primitive gut in the embryo stage. (Vertebrates)
    2. Invertebrates are multicellular and the cells each have a specific duties and responsibilities to keep that animal alive.
    3. Invertebrates tend to be smaller in size due to their lack of complex skeletal system.

  3. 1. Cells in the sponge walls filters food from the water as the water is pumped through the body and out larger opening.
    2. Sponges do not have mouths
    3. Sponges reproduces by both asexual and sexual means.

  5. Learning Points:
    1) Porifera(Sponge) have tiny pores in their outer walls through which water is drawn.
    2) Flow of water through the sponge is unidirectional, driven by the beating of flagella which line the surface of chambers connected by a series of canals.
    3) There are 4 major groups of cnidarians which are anthozoa, cubozoa, hydrozoa and scyphozoa.

  6. Learning Points:
    1) Flow of water through a sponge is unidirectional. driven by the beating of flagella which line the surface of chambers connected by a series of canals.
2)Cnidarians all have stinging cells known as nematocysts.
3)Cnidarians most likely shared a common ancestor, thus the presence of their nematocysts.

  7. - Porifera does not have mouth but it sucks in water and has cells in the sponge walls to filter food .
    - Porifera reproduce by both asexual and sexual means.
    - Cnidaria have 4 major groups which is anthozoa, cubozoa, hydrozoa and scyphozoa.
